Once upon a time, I worked in an open office where the work spaces were separated by yellow walls. The first day of work, I looked at the walls and thought, "Oh, it's so cheery! Like a bumblebee." A few weeks later, I was thinking, "Like a bumblebee. An ANGRY, ANGRY bumblebee."

The Psychology of Color
Which isn't so strange, as many people believe that certain colors are more calming (or aggravating) than others. My long-ago office, for example, might have instilled more calm if it had been painted blue.

Healing Through Color?
Some alternative practitioners feel that you can heal negative emotions through the use of color. Certainly, there's no harm in trying to make your environment feel more peaceful.

Feng Shui and Color
If you're big on feng shui, you might have seen my office in a different light: Yellow supposedly creates a cozy, cheerful energy. (I think it might be better for kitchens than offices, though.)

Color Therapy and Your Wardrobe
I have an inordinate amount of orange clothing, especially since it's not exactly a common clothing color in the US. According to this, my orange outfits could encourage me to be more energetic and creative.
