Here is a fundamentally unfair thing about money: it's totally possible to get used to spending whatever you have. This makes going back to one paycheck difficult, for folks who are used to living on two.

This is my favorite tip from this list: "Make your own toys." When I was a kid, my favorite toy was a fort made out of a refrigerator box. This probably irritated anyone who'd ever given me an expensive toy.
